A DYNAMIC AND PLAYFUL YACHT AT THE SAME TIME, WITH SLEEK LINES
The Excess 14 is the pure embodiment of the Excess DNA. It is the fruit of dedicated design work and brand-specific industrial implementation. It is a cruising yacht both dynamic and playful, with taut lines.
This catamaran is the result of innovative architecture and unprejudiced research to find unprecedented solutions. The Excess 14 is designed around an unprecedented layout on the market, both in the owner and charter version. More sensations and all the expectations of a cruising boat: this is the challenge taken up by the Excess 14!
Our Excess catamarans are equipped with SEANAPPS technology: the solution to keep your boat safe and ready to sail at all times. Thanks to a box installed on board and a mobile application, you can retrieve all the information of your boat directly from your smartphone.
A signature that identifies itself immediately.
Combining a low boom, reduced stowage from a lowered freeboard, taut lines, and redesigned portholes creates a catamaran with a different look! Add a pushed-back roof, a more forward mast, a standard composite bowsprit, and inverted, raked bows for more fun! Top it off with a raised stem, and you have a dynamic catamaran ready for adventure.
For a better feel at the helm, you already know what our choice is: the aft helm stations directly over the rudders and visibility over the sails, inspired by monohulls.
What you might not know is that visibility is optimal on board the Excess 14, through the untinted windows – this is an Excess exclusive on the market!
In this model, the sail area to displacement ratio has been optimized and the depth of the rudders has been increased. Onboard, a direct steering system has been chosen, with textile rigging, for better helm feel (because yes, it's important!).
Unbiased fundamental research!
Thanks to the collaboration with VPLP design, the Excess 14's design has benefited from their knowledge of offshore racing and their cutting-edge software programs. Reinforced by this expertise, this model is designed with an advanced mast, a larger square top mainsail, and a large overlapping genoa (as standard).
Since we couldn't stand there, the bilge was raised to improve passage through the sea and asymmetric hulls were designed to reduce interference.
Continuing with the innovative approach, it also features:
At Excess, we don't do things by halves!
The Excess 14 is a cruising catamaran that also provides comfort and modularity in its living spaces.
The goal was to offer preserved volumes and good ceiling height, all with a warm and always bright interior design.
In the cabins, you'll find spacious beds (very comfortable!) and bathrooms with separate showers. To set off on your adventure, ample storage and refrigeration space has been created!
And so as not to compromise navigation or living space, the fold-away chart table is truly ingenious.
Designed around a distribution scheme unprecedented in the market, in both its owner and charter versions.
The Excess 14 is available in several distribution versions. .
In the innovative 3-cabin version, you will find:

The changing room allows you to store both your wetsuits and your everyday clothes. Additional double bunks will allow you to enjoy the owner's cabin with the whole family.
