BENETEAU : A LONG HISTORY STARTING IN VENDÉE
The history of BENETEAU began in 1884 at the Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie shipyard in Vendée, under the leadership of Benjamin Bénéteau. At that time, BENETEAU was closely linked to fishing, and at the beginning of the 20th century, the brand put its first sailing trawlers and motor tuna boats on the water.
In the 1960s, BENETEAU made a shift towards pleasure boating. With this choice, BENETEAU retains its dynamics oriented towards both sailboats and motorboats.
In the 1990s, BENETEAU took off and became the parent brand of GROUPE Beneteau.
