Excess 14
This catamaran is the result of innovative architecture and unprejudiced research to find unprecedented solutions. The Excess 14 is designed around an unprecedented layout in the market, both in the proprietary and charter versions. More sensations and all the expectations of a cruise ship: this is the challenge that the Excess 14 assumes!
Our Excess catamarans are equipped with SEANAPPS technology: the solution to keep your boat safe and ready to sail at all times. Thanks to a box installed on board and a mobile application, you can retrieve all the information of your boat directly from your smartphone.
THE INCARNATION OF EXCESS DNA
A signature that is immediately identified.
If you combine a low boom, a stewage reduced by a lowered frankboard, tense lines and redesigned hull doors, you will get a catamaran with a different look! Add a back roof, a more bow mast, a composite butt (standard) and inverted and inclined bows for more fun! If you finish it off with a raised wheel, you have a dynamic catamaran ready for adventure.
For a better feeling at the helm, you already know what our choice is: the control posts aft directly on the rudders and visibility on the sails, inspired by the monocoques.
What you may not know is that visibility is optimal on board the Excess 14, through the untinted windows – this is an Excess exclusive on the market!
In this model, the sail/displacement ratio has been optimized and the depth of the rudders has been increased. On board, a direct steering system has been chosen, with textile wiring, for a better feeling of the rudder (because yes, it is important!).
AN INNOVATIVE ARCHITECTURE
A fundamental investigation without prejudice!
Thanks to the collaboration with VPLP design, the design of the Excess 14 has benefited from its knowledge of oceanic regattas and its state-of-the-art software. Reinforced by this experience, this model is designed with an advanced mast, a larger square and a large overlapping genova (standard).
Since we could not stand there, the añera was raised to improve the passage through the sea and asymmetrical helmets were designed to reduce interference.
Following the innovative approach, it also has:
A lower center of gravity
An optimized structure (foam sandwich, carbon reinforcement, etc.) 7
A new longitudinal distribution of volumes
At Excess we don’t do things halfway!
MORE SENSATIONS AND ALL THE EXPECTATIONS OF A CRUISE BOAT
The Excess 14 is a cruise catamaran that also provides comfort and modularity of living spaces.
The goal was to offer you preserved volumes and a good height under the roof; all with a warm and always bright interior design.
In the helmets, you will find spacious beds (very comfortable!) And bathrooms with separate shower. To go on an adventure, important storage and cooling spaces have been created!
And in order not to compromise navigation or living space, the retractable card table is really ingenious.
AN UNPRECEDENTED DISTRIBUTION SCHEME IN THE MARKET
Conceived around an unprecedented distribution scheme in the market, both in its proprietary version and in the charter version.
The Excess 14 is available in several distribution versions.
In the innovative version of 3 cabins, you will find:
